Q&A 239: What’s Your Favorite Fictional Romance?

In Q & A, a weekly feature of Fantastic Fangirls, we ask our staff to tackle a simple question — then open the floor to comments.

What’s your favorite fictional romance?

Anika

I sometimes like to pretend Battlestar Galactica ended with “Exodus Part 2”, that Gaius and Six took Hera and escaped into space to raise her as their own outrunning cylons and humans alike.

Six, Gaius Baltar, and Hera; Battlestar Galactica

And then Burn Notice ended with that basically happening except in Ireland instead of space. My favourite fictional romances involve moral ambiguity, explosions, and raising other people’s children.

Well, I have a lot because I’m a sucker for romance. But at the moment, this:

*chinhands* Oh, Lexa and Clarke. They’ve been through a lot. I don’t want to spoil it for those of you who haven’t watched The 100 (sidenote: watch The 100 because I’m pretty sure it’s the best drama on television right now) but after the events of last season, and the first few episodes of this season, I was worried about these two crazy kids. And I still am, because they live in a brutal future reality and they both have the weight of their respective worlds on their shoulders. But! There is something strong between them, and as much as I’m arm-flailingly impatient for them to omg just get together (though I worry that the sooner they get together the sooner something terrible will happen) this trajectory is pretty nice to watch. So here’s to the slow burn of Clexa, the commanders of my heart. <3

So what about you? What’s your favorite fictional romance?
