The decision was easy. Last night Viola Davis became the first African-American woman to win a Primetime Emmy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role (as Annalise Keating in How to Get Away with Murder). When her name was called she made a bee-line for fellow nominee Taranji P. Henson (as Cookie Lyon in Empire):
It wasn’t the only hug Ms. Henson planted on a winner, either. Taranji got to give Regina King her award:
