Q&A #246: What is a favorite “day job” of a comic book superhero?

In Q & A, a weekly feature of Fantastic Fangirls, we ask our staff to tackle a simple question — then open the floor to comments.

What is a favorite “day job” of a comic book superhero?

A picture (with caption) is worth a thousand words:

Just once, I would like to spend the day as CEO of Stark Industries. But as much as I would like to, I know that Iron Man would be the only one “suited” for this job. Say what you will about his personal flaws, Tony’s business instincts are what keeps him a frontrunner.

Was this question asked specifically for 4/15? Tax day in the United States? Because there’s only one answer I can give:

Bobby Drake, CPA

I love that Bobby has a totally grounded-in-reality, totally nerdy day job. I picture him getting really stressed out between January 1st and April 15th, because he doesn’t just have to save the world and keep the books balanced he has to GET YOU A GOOD REFUND, OKAY, SCOTT? Are there special forms that mutants need to fill out? I bet Bobby knows! I bet he sits around doing taxes for all the X-people, and probably a lot of the rest of the superhero community of the Marvel universe. I imagine Johnny Storm got him to do the entire F4’s taxes. Maybe the X-team puts him in as reserve-only until April 16th, when he takes a week long vacation to Tahiti and then goes back to superheroing.

So what about you? What is a favorite “day job” of a comic book superhero?

I love: Jen Walters, attorney at law. Also Awesome Andy as the office assistant.
