New York Comic Con 2009

Posted by Caroline

Last weekend might turn out to be a personal high point in my life: that could be the largest number of geeks I’ll ever see under one roof. Sure, San Diego Comic-Con is America’s official Nerd Prom, and there probably other ginormous gatherings of fan-people scattered across the globe. But geography and my houseguest-accommodating fellow fangirls being what they are, New York Comic Con is probably as large-scale as my experience is going to get. There was going to be a longer article about this experience but, like approximately 105% of the people who attended the con, I have contracted some kind of horrible death flu. So I’ll just say thanks to the awesome people we met, including many of our readers and commenters on this blog, and include my two favorite pictures:

Matt Fraction appreciates Anikas can-do spirit, as he poses with homemade Heroclix based on characters from The Order

Thanks to all of you for making the experience awesome!

I firmly believe that comics are for reading. I’m not about to get that thing CGC’ed. As long as all the pages are there and legible, the comic is in good enough condition for me. Hell, I only paid a dollar for it.
